Several years ago, our founders, Narendra Shekhawat and Utkarsh Shardul, set out with a shared discomfort. Trekking in the Sahyadris and the Western Ghats had become rushed, profit-driven, and disconnected from the very mountains it claimed to celebrate. Many organisations lacked deep local knowledge and treated treks as transactions rather than experiences.

Surmount Adventures was born to change that.

What began as a small effort to lead treks with intention soon grew into a community built on meaningful mountain experiences. We focused on doing things differently—prioritising safety, building well-researched and curated itineraries, and fostering a genuine connection with nature and the Sahyadris we call home.

Over the years, Surmount Adventures has expanded its offerings—adding climbing expeditions, Himalayan treks, and other high-altitude journeys—while staying true to its core values. Our passion for the mountains continues to grow with every trek, inspiring us to deliver experiences that are safe, immersive, and unforgettable.
