Must Know

The Katraj to Sinhagad trek (K2S) is one of the most challenging and accessible treks near Pune, and is trekkers delight during full moon days. This trek is perfect for a weekend escape from the city buzz and an ultimate test for trekkers.

Spanning approximately 16 kilometers along the southern ridge of Pune, trekkers navigate over 17 hills before reaching the Sinhagad Fort. The trek features steep climbs, especially in the first and last segments, along with some challenging descents between valleys. During the day, the lack of tree cover can make the trek quite hot, while at night, fatigue can make it feel endless.

In the monsoon season, the landscape transforms dramatically. The trails become lush and green, but low-hanging clouds can obscure the path, making navigation tricky. Rainwater turns the trails into streams and waterfalls, adding to the adventure.

Its essential to note that road access is available only at the starting and finishing points. This means trekkers must either complete the entire route or turn back within the first hour. Having led this trek multiple times over the last five years, with participants as young as four, we cherish the unique experiences and connections made along the way.
